118. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if capital acquisitions tax is payable in the case of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [38859/24]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by Revenue that they were in contact with the person concerned on 20 September 2024 regarding the Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT) liability arising from their purchase of the family home. The person has been advised to submit a Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT) Form IT38 to establish the exact CAT liability.
In addition, the person was made aware of the different payment options available for customers to pay their CAT liability.
