367. Deputy Claire Kerrane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the quantity in tonnes of grain, such as maize, soya, wheat, and barley, that were imported into Ireland in 2023; the countries whence the grain came; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [38931/24]

The tillage sector is an important and integral component of the Agri-food industry producing high-quality grain for the food and animal feed industries. The sector also produces straw for feeding and bedding. Nevertheless, there is still a significant demand for imports of animal feed and the feed grain imports are as set out in the table below:
