Deputy Michael Lowry asked the Minister for Health to clarify the current policy regarding the acceptance of referrals from private hospitals to the new community care and rehabilitation centre in Nenagh, County Tipperary; whether patients referred from private hospitals, such as Barrington’s Hospital in Limerick, are eligible for admission to the community care and rehabilitation centre in Nenagh; if not, the rationale behind this policy; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
