255. Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Finance the estimated revenue of increasing stamp duty on residential property with a value over €1 million to 6%, including all multi-unit purchases of houses and apartments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [44179/24]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by Revenue that the additional yield from increasing Stamp Duty on residential property with a value over €1 million to 6%, including all multi-unit purchases of houses and apartments, is estimated to be of the order of €60 million. This estimate is based on the latest available Stamp Duty returns for statistical analysis, where the consideration value is above €1 million.
