The National Shared Services Office (NSSO) manage leave of absences including career breaks on behalf of my department. It is the responsibility of any civil servant whose career break is coming to an end to make contact with the NSSO who in turn contact my department’s HR Unit. Where the employee has indicated that they are available to return to work, HR Unit engages with them regarding a suitable vacancy and a date of return.
