My Department has a permanent presence at all slaughter plants, including those in Kildare, during the hours of slaughter.

For other processing plants, inspections take place regularly.

My Department will revert with the relevant statistics on these inspections once compiled.

The following deferred reply was received under Standing Order 51.
The below table sets out the data that the Deputy requested. These number of inspections that have taken place in each meat processing plant in Kildare in each of the past five years are provided in addition to the on-going inspections/controls that take place in the slaughter plants in Kildare, marked with an asterisk in the table, that have a full time DAFM staff presence during slaughter.
