Ceist:1012. Deputy Paul Donnelly asked the Minister for Justice if funding has been made available in 2025 to purchase additional larger horsebox vehicles for the Garda mounted unit. [1420/25]

As the Deputy will be aware, the Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of An Garda Síochána, including the expenditure of the Garda budget. As Minister I have no role in how the budget is allocated.
The Garda Commissioner is also responsible for the purchase, allocation, and effective and efficient use of Garda vehicles.
I am advised by the Garda authorities that the purchase and allocation of vehicles by An Garda Síochána is made on the basis of identified operational demands and the availability of resources, and is reviewed on a continual basis.
