Deputy Jennifer Murnane O'Connor asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications the number of requests to his Department that have been granted for various matters (details supplied); the number of such requests that were refused; and the grounds on which they were refused. Amharc ar fhreagraI can confirm to the Deputy that my Department has approved Special Leave for one civil servant to avail of an appointment to an EU or International Organisation. The approval was granted in 2022 and will cover 2024.
My Department has no record of approving a career break for any civil servant to take up an EU post in 2024.
