Ireland's National Physical Activity Plan, launched in 2016, laid the foundations for strong and effective collaboration with the objective of increasing population levels of physical activity in the country. My Department works closely with a range of Government Departments and agencies, including Sport Ireland, in this regard.
Mechanisms supporting the types of initiatives referred to by the Deputy would fall more appropriately within the remit of either Sport Ireland or the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. My Department has no direct function in this regard.
