Dáil Éireann Debate, Wednesday - 26 March 2025
90. Deputy Eamon Scanlon asked the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media if his Department offers financial support grants or programmes to community sports teams travelling abroad for training camps (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14499/25]
Amharc ar fhreagraSport Ireland, which is funded by my Department, is the statutory body with responsibility for the development of sport, increasing participation at all levels and raising standards, including the allocation of funding across its various programmes.
With the exception of its High Performance Programme, Sport Ireland does not provide direct funding for clubs or individuals but instead channels funding to the relevant National Governing Body of Sport (NGB), in this case the Football Association of Ireland (FAI). Clubs and individuals are advised to contact their relevant NGB to see what support might be available to assist in this regard.
