I propose to take Questions Nos. 373 and 376 together.

Carer’s Allowance is a payment for people on low incomes who are caring for a person who needs full-time care and attention because of age, disability, or illness.

Table 1 below provides the number of claims registered, awarded and rejected for Carer's Allowance, and Table 2 shows the number of appeals registered and the number that were successful in 2024 and to the end of June 2025. My Department currently does not collate statistics on the number of people who reapplied for Carer's Allowance, or the outcome of reapplications.
