Deputy Roderic O'Gorman asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the number of non-coursing greyhounds whose year of birth was 2021 that were active on the race management system between the dates of 14 August 2025 and 24 September 2025; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraRásaíocht Con Éireann (RCÉ) is a commercial state body established under the Greyhound Industry Act 1958 chiefly to control greyhound racing and to improve and develop the greyhound industry. RCÉ is a body corporate and a separate legal entity to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
The questions raised by the Deputy are an operational matter for RCÉ and therefore have been referred to that body for direct reply.
