The Chief State Solicitors Office (CSSO) are responsible for legal costs in defending judicial reviews of planning decisions. My Department avails of their service as per other central government Departments, direct costs are borne by the CSSO whilst claims are borne by the State Claims Agency. My Department does not track specific costs such as stenographer services, signing of affidavits relating to these cases. With regards the agencies under the Department's remit this is a matter for them I have forwarded your question to them for reply, please contact my Office if you do not receive such a reply within 10 working days.
