Deputy Paul Lawless asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage if he is aware of the proportion of Irish land which has been sold to individual and investment firms outside the State of Irish land is owned by foreign investors; to provide a list of same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has published data in relation to residentially zoned land sales disaggregated by vendor and purchaser on it's website at: data.cso.ie/table/RZLPA04.
This CSO release is categorised as a CSO Frontier Series Output (www.cso.ie/en/methods/ourpublishingformats/). Particular care must be taken when interpreting the statistics in this release as it may use new methods which are under development and/or data sources which may be incomplete, for example new administrative data sources.
