340. Deputy Shónagh Ní Raghallaigh asked the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport the provision his Department has made to prioritise arts provision for Irish-language speakers in Gaeltacht service towns outside the Gaeltacht and Irish language networks, designated under the Gaeltacht Act 2012; if he will make particular reference to the funding conditions required of recipients of Arts Council funding in relation to provision for Irish-medium schools funding for arts centres; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Arts Council is committed to increasing public engagement in the arts in Ireland and it provides financial support to a number of initiatives aimed at increasing public access, participation and engagement in the arts including through the Irish language. In Budget 2026, the Arts Council has been allocated record funding of over €140 million.

I have asked the Arts Council to make direct contact with the Deputy in regard to the support they provide for arts for Irish language speakers and the conditions attached as set out in the Deputy's question.
