My Department is currently progressing 12 projects under the FET College Major Capital programme to provide fit-for-purpose, state of the art facilities to meet the needs of learners and staff, and address existing deficits in current FET infrastructure.

In addition, under the Strategic Infrastructure Upgrade Programme 19 projects were approved to provide for high-quality teaching and learning environments, aligned with the principles of the FET College of the Future.

In 2024 expenditure of €27 million supported the provision of additional apprenticeship capacity, by way of essential building works, and significant investment in additional equipment needs, following a revalidation process carried out by QQI on a number of craft apprenticeships. Capital investment in apprenticeships in excess of €11 million has been expended in 2025.
