Amharc ar fhreagraThe Agreement on Air Transport between the European Community and its Member States and Canada provides the legal framework for scheduled services to operate between Ireland and Canada.
Ultimately, the operation of any scheduled air service is a commercial decision for airlines, in consultation with airports and other market actors, based on the commercial viability of the route in question and other operational factors. I do not have a role in such decisions.
The summer season in 2025 saw offerings from four airlines from Dublin to six different Canadian destinations, with St. John's an additional destination on offer to passengers this year. All four airlines offered daily flights to Toronto. Frequencies on a number of services also increased compared to the equivalent season in 2024. Year-round services from Dublin to Toronto are currently operated by both Aer Lingus and Air Canada.
