612. Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage if he will provide details on the current grant for septic tank improvements; and if it is still necessary to have registered a septic tank in 2012 to be eligible for a grant. [72316/25]

Details of my Departments grant scheme for Domestic Waste Water Treatment Systems (commonly called septic tanks) are available here:

It is no longer necessary to have registered a system in 2012 to be eligible for a grant. However, all households with a domestic wastewater treatment system must register it with the local authority. Guidance on the registration process is available here:
