Combatting all forms of domestic, sexual and gender-based violence (DSGBV) and ensuring that victims and survivors receive the support and care they need are absolute priorities for me.

In June 2025, I published the final implementation plan for the five-year ‘Zero Tolerance’ National DSGBV Strategy which set out the delivery targets and collective action to be taken until the end of this year. Since its establishment two years ago, Cuan the DSGBV Agency, has been responsible for coordinating all Government actions set out in the Strategy.

Cuan had a total budget of €66.917 million for 2025, the majority of which funded 78 service providers across the country. Additional funding was secured through Budget 2026 to continue tackling at pace the scourge of domestic, sexual and gender-based violence. The allocation in Budget 2026 of almost €80 million represents an increase of 18% (€12.2 million).

As this question relates to information held by Cuan, I have referred it to the agency for direct response.
