I propose to take Questions Nos. 1682 and 1683 together.
The list of measures Ireland has opted into under Article 3, and under Article 4 of Protocol 21 has been updated on the relevant section of the Gov.ie website and is available here: www.gov.ie/en/department-of-justice-home-affairs-and-migration/policy-information/european-affairs/
Ireland does not fully participate in the Schengen acquis and, in particular, does not participate in the measures of the acquis concerning the crossing of the external borders. However, at Ireland’s request and pursuant to the procedure under Article 4 of the Protocol No 19 on the Schengen acquis (integrated into the framework of the European Union), the application of the Schengen acquis was partially extended to Ireland in line with Decision 2002/192/EC. In accordance with Protocol No 19 and Council Decision 2002/192/EC, Ireland now participates in the Schengen acquis measures detailed at the following link: www.gov.ie/en/department-of-justice-home-affairs-and-migration/policy-information/european-affairs/
