Under the Short-Term Activation Programme (STAP), a total of 967 student accommodation beds have either been delivered or are currently progressing through the approval process. This includes:

493 new beds for University College Dublin, which have now been approved; A 358-bed project for Trinity College Dublin, which is currently progressing though Gate 1 approval; and a project at Maynooth University, which has successfully delivered 116 beds for the current academic year.

Looking ahead, a central component of the forthcoming National Student Accommodation Strategy, to be published in early 2026, is the Technological Sector Student Accommodation Programme (TSSAP).

Phase 2 of the TSSAP will commence in early 2026, with Higher Education Institutions progressing to this stage, preparing business cases for proposed student accommodation projects. I will bring forward further details of these projects, including specific locations and delivery timelines, once the assessment and approval processes have concluded.
