Amharc ar fhreagraAs Minister of State with responsibility for International & Road Transport, Logistics, Rail and Ports, I wish to advise that a document on the recording of penalty points and disqualifications on driver records was published by my Department on 10 December 2025.
The purpose of this document is to outline the process for recording penalty points and disqualifications on driver records within the National Vehicle and Driver File (NVDF) database. It also includes detailed statistics, which will be updated annually and published on an ongoing basis. I expect that my Department will publish updated statistical tables for end 2025 data in the first quarter of this year.
