Deputy Mark Ward asked the Minister for Health to clarify if a blepharoplasty procedure is not covered under the National Treatment Purchase Fund the alternatives that are in place to secure this procedure on behalf of patients; and if the cross-Border initiative is being considered; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraIn respect of blepharoplasty surgery, the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF) has advised my Department that it does not have any tenders in place for this procedure.
In relation to the queries raised concerning alternative access to this procedure, as this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
