The Coastal Unit Advisory Group (CUAG) terms of reference is the existing framework for engagement between the Irish Coast Guard and CUAG. CUAG, consisting of serving Coast Guard Volunteers elected by their peers to advocate on their behalf, is the sole body recognised by the Irish Coast Guard as representing Coast Guard Volunteers. The CUAG terms of reference set out the platform of engagement between the Irish Coast Guard and CUAG on matters impacting on the performance of search and rescue activities in which volunteers are engaged, as well as providing CUAG members with a representative role in matters relating to serving members.
