Deputy John Paul O'Shea asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation if the unused accommodation section of Castlemaine Garda station, Castlemaine, County Kerry, will be made available for community use; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by the Commissioners of Public Works (OPW) that the Garda station at Castlemaine, Co Kerry. is an operational Garda station and the OPW has not been advised by An Garda Síochána that the property, or any part of it, is surplus to their requirements.
The OPW is therefore not in a position to engage with any community groups in relation to making the property available for community use.
