677. Deputy Aidan Farrelly asked the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport the grant aid or funding provided to Meath, Wicklow and Kildare local authorities by his Department, and bodies under its aegis, in the past five years to date, and by heading. [10048/26]

My Department was re-configured as the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport at the beginning of June 2025. The details sought by the Deputy in relation to all grant aid and funding provided to Meath, Wicklow and Kildare local authorities in the years in question for the current functions under the remit of my Department are set out in the table below.

With regard to sport funding specifically, details of capital and equipment funding can be found on my Departments website at the following link: https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-culture-communications-and-sport/collections/sports-capital-programme-allocations/

In relation to bodies under the aegis of my Department, this is an operational matter for the bodies themselves.

All funding and grant aid provided under the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF) to Kildare, Wicklow and Meath local authorities for the period in question are set out in the table below and are also published on the Department’s website at https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-culture-communications-and-sport/campaigns/large-scale-sport-infrastructure-fund-lssif/. Projects approved under the first round of Large-Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF), allocations awarded in 2020, received top-up allocations to address increased inflation and construction costs. Meath County Council was originally allocated €2,012,276 for the Linear Walkways and Playing Fields project. Wicklow County Council received an original allocation of €864,177 for the Wicklow Swimming Pool project and €309,642 for the redevelopment of the Charlesland Athletics Track.
