I am informed that in autumn 2025 the HSE reviewed the 2017 HSE Position Paper on Wind Turbines and Public Health due to outdated information. This review was part of the HSE's ongoing quality assurance processes, which are initiated whenever new information or evidence emerges related to published guidance. Consequently, the HSE National Health Protection Office, in consultation with the HSE National Director of Public Health, decided to withdraw the Position Paper in November 2025. The Office of the Chief Medical Officer in the Department of Health became aware of the Position Paper withdrawal in December 2025. The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage should be contacted directly in relation to when they were notified of this withdrawal.
