One of my priorities as Minister for Defence is to ensure that there is continued investment in infrastructure. Currently at Collins Barracks the refurbishment of Block 1 Officer/NCO Accommodation is under construction expected completion date of mid-2026 at a cost of €6.3m. The Deputy may also wish to note that the following projects are in the procurement pipeline and/or design stage :

• Refurbishment of Security Duty Centre

• New Garaging Facility

• Upgrade of Main Gate Security

To date, the following capital projects, at a combined cost of €6.25m, have also been completed in Collins Barracks:

• New Accommodation Block

• Personnel Support Services Resources Centre

• I&U Offices – Building 73-1

• Upgrade of Ablutions at Blocks 15 and 16
