During my visit to Washington D.C. earlier this month, I undertook a range of political, economic and community engagements aimed at further strengthening Ireland's close relationship with the United States. These included a series of bipartisan meetings, that were warm and constructive, on Capitol Hill. I did not have the opportunity to meet with the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives during this visit.
