Ceisteanna (315)

Mairéad Farrell

Ceist:

315. Deputy Mairéad Farrell asked the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment the reason his officials failed to publish in full all submissions received for the public consultation on the Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2025 and conservation measures for the 2026 season that closed on 20 December 2025, in view of declarations made on his Department’s website; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department received a significant volume of responses (326 submissions) to its public consultation on the draft Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme (Amendment) Regulations for 2026 which closed last December. A comprehensive Consultation Report, which includes a list and summary of all the responses received, was prioritised for publication to ensure stakeholder feedback was made publicly available in a timely manner.

It remains the Department's intention to publish copies of all submissions received. However, given the high number of responses received, it will take some time to prepare submissions for publication. The submissions will be made available on the consultation page once this process has been completed.
