Deputy Malcolm Byrne asked the Minister for Defence the systems in place to agree performance metrics of Chief Executives of agencies within the aegis of her Department; the way in which these are measured; the person or body that carries out the assessment; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThere are three bodies under the aegis of my Department; the Army Pensions Board, established under the Army Pensions Act 1927, the Ombudsman for the Defence Forces, established pursuant to the provisions of the Ombudsman (Defence Forces) Act 2004 and the External Oversight Body of the Defence Forces (EOB), which was placed on a Statutory basis on 1 December 2024. None of these bodies have a Chief Executive post. The bodies are supported by civil servants employed through my Department and who are subject to the civil service's Performance Management and Development System.
