606. Deputy Louis O'Hara asked the Minister for Education and Youth for clarification on a person's school bus pickup point (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11774/26]

Bus Éireann operates the school transport scheme on behalf of the Department of Education and Youth. The purpose of the scheme is to provide transport for children living remotely from their nearest school.

As part of the operation of the scheme, Bus Éireann is responsible for the planning and timetabling of school transport routes. Bus Éireann advise that they are following up with local office staff regarding the matters raised. The School Transport Section of my Department will furnish this information directly to the Deputy as soon as it is available.
