Deputy Malcolm Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the systems in place to agree performance metrics of Chief Executives of agencies within the aegis of his Department; the way in which these are measured; the person or body that carries out the assessment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraIn line with the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies, the performance metrics of the State Bodies under the remit of my Department are agreed with my Department through the Performance Delivery Agreements for the Non Commercial State Bodies and through the Shareholder Letters of Expectation for the Commercial State Bodies.
The performance metrics of the Chief Executives of agencies under the remit of my Department is an operational matter for the State Bodies themselves.
I have referred the Deputy’s question to the 13 State Bodies under the aegis of my Department and have requested that a response should issue within 10 days.
