The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is Ireland’s independent civil aviation regulator. It exercises safety oversight of the aviation Search and Rescue (SAR) operator through its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and a National SAR Approval. The SAR operator must comply with the National SAR Rules which contain requirements for fatigue management, including flight time limitations and rest requirements that are in line with international aviation safety law. The most recent set of National SAR Rules were issued by the IAA in June 2022.

Working time and employment matters are matters between the operator and its employees.
