I am very cognisant of the challenges CHI has faced in recent years and I am actively driving multiple efforts to address these. This includes strengthening governance and oversight, driving down waiting times, and ensuring increased engagement and timely communications with families of patients.

The Service Level Agreement between CHI and the HSE has also been strengthened, and there is increased involvement from the Dublin and Midlands Regional Executive Officer.

In relation to responses provided by CHI to members of the Oireachtas, CHI has advised that in 2024 it answered more than 150 PQs, whilst in 2025, this number was close to 500.
