My Department has no role in the determination or payment of pension increases to members of occupational pension schemes, irrespective of whether those schemes operate in the public or private sector.
Matters directly relating to the An Post Superannuation Scheme and the Eircom Pension Scheme come under the remit of the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport. My understanding is that the payment of pension increases for these schemes is subject to the approval of the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, and the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation.
I trust this clarifies matters for the Deputy.
