Deputy Eoin Ó Broin asked the Minister for Education and Youth if she is aware of a campaign by parents regarding the modular project proposed for a school (details supplied); if a commitment will be provided regarding the retention of the greenspace in situ; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI can assure the Deputy that my department is aware of the concerns of the school in relation to their green space and has worked closely with the school to reach a solution in this regard.
My department is required to manage the allocated capital funding across all schools in the country to ensure that every child has access to a school place. There is a large demand for special class provision in the Lucan school planning area.
I can assure the Deputy that department officials have engaged with the school authorities in relation to this matter and will continue to do so.
