Deputy Aidan Farrelly asked the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration the number of data access requests that An Garda Síochána, GSOC and CAB have made to telecommunications and social media companies in the past three years and to date in 2026, under the Communications (Retention of Data) Act (as amended) 2022; the number of access requests that were approved and declined by the companies that the data was requested from; the reason the data was sought; and to include in his response the social media companies to which requests were made.
