Amharc ar fhreagraThe Civil Service offers a number of flexible working opportunities for eligible staff. These include unpaid leave of the types listed below. Career breaks and special leave is applied for and granted in accordance with the relevant circulars and subject to the business needs of the Department.
The numbers of staff in Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade currently on unpaid leave as of 07 April 2026 is provided in the table below. Officers availing of their statutory right to extended maternity leave are not included.
