The Labour Force Survey (LFS) is the official source of labour market estimates for the State. The official labour market classification of respondents to the LFS is based on International Labour Organisation – or ILO – concepts and definitions. The most recent LFS figures available are for Q4 2025.

The number of persons who reported working usually or sometimes from home in the State in Q4 2025 was 956,800, a decrease of 15,900 people from the 972,700 reported in Q4 2024.

The percentage of persons in employment who reported working from home in the State in Q4 2025 was 33.8%, a decrease of 1.2% percentage points from the rate 35% recorded a year earlier.

LFS estimates for Q1 2026 will be published on 21 May 2026.
