Dáil Éireann Debate, Tuesday - 12 May 2026
635. Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl asked the Minister for Education and Youth when her Department expects refurbishment works at a school (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [35216/26]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe project to which the Deputy refers has been devolved for delivery to the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA) as part of a programme of school building projects (Project Boyne).
The brief for this project provides for a 1,000 pupil school plus 6 special education classrooms.
I am delighted to inform the deputy that approval was recently granted to the NDFA to issue the Letter of Acceptance to the preferred contractor and this project has earlier this month progressed to construction.
My department remains committed to providing ongoing guidance and practical support as required. The NDFA as the delivery body will continue to engage directly with the school authority to keep it fully informed of all progress.
The current status of all projects is listed on a county by county basis at www.gov.ie. under item number ten and this is updated on a regular basis to reflect project progress through the various stages of capital appraisal, site acquisition, design, tender and construction.
