Data on New Dwelling Completions disaggregated by Dwelling Type and Local Authority are published quarterly on the Central Statistics Office (CSO) website at: data.cso.ie/table/NDQ06

My Department publishes comprehensive programme-level statistics on a quarterly basis on social and affordable housing delivery activity by local authorities and Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) in each local authority including Mayo. Data on new build delivery is available to Q4 2025 and is published on the statistics page of my Department’s website at the following link: www.gov.ie/en/collection/6060e-overall-social-housing-provision/.

CSO data shows overall housing delivery in County Mayo has more than doubled (up 119%) in the last decade, increasing from 242 new homes in the 12 months ending Q1 2017 to 529 in the period ending Q1 2026.

Delivering Homes, Building Communities seeks to significantly accelerate delivery of new homes by focusing on activating land and creating the optimal environment to encourage housing activity – including regulatory reform, tax incentives and the largest ever capital investment in the history of the State, with €275 billion invested in infrastructure over ten years through the National Development Plan.

The unprecedented level of investment Government have committed, will bring about a very significant scale up in the delivery of housing over the coming years, address the needs of the most vulnerable in our communities, make buying and renting homes more affordable and support the development of villages, towns and cities across the country.
