118. Deputy Albert Dolan asked the Minister for Social Protection for an update on if and when negotiations will take place with branch managers of social protection offices regarding the payments for services, and remuneration of same. [35582/26]
Amharc ar fhreagraEach Social Welfare Branch Office is operated and managed, under a contract for service, by a Branch Manager. I would like to thank the social welfare branch managers for their work. As independent contractors, Branch Managers operate on a commercial contract for service subject to public procurement rules.
I can confirm that my Department received a request to review the overall remuneration arrangements for Branch Managers. We have engaged, as required, with the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation and I can confirm that the Department has secured and received sanction for an increase in Branch Manager remuneration.
On the 8th May, the Department notified the Branch Managers representative groups of the sanctioned increase and notifications of revised changes on contractors remuneration have been communicated to each individual Branch Manager.
I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
