I can advise the Deputy that the Department of Finance does not run advertising campaigns directly, but in 2024 made a contribution to IDA Ireland of €176,631.61 for advertising relating to hosting the headquarters of AMLA, the EU anti-money laundering authority and a further €35,000 to the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage for advertising relating to the residential zoned land tax.
The below refer to advertising spending for the Bodies under the Aegis of my Department.
Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO)
Digital marketing plays an important role in the delivery of the FSPO’s communications strategy and provides the opportunity to target identified audiences and demographics.
Its digital campaigns have covered topics such as its Overview of Complaints, Global Money Week, OmbudsDay and general awareness campaigns so members of the public know how to make a complaint to the FSPO. As part of these it implements targeted advertising campaigns across a range of platforms. The figure for social media below includes Meta, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
