Deputy Cathy Bennett asked the Minister for Health if she could establish a streamlined pathway for nursing and midwifery applicants trained in Ireland and the North of Ireland, improve transparency and communication obligations to applicants; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraResponsibility for the regulation and registration of nurses and midwives in Ireland rests with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
As the recognition of applications for nurses and midwives sits with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), I have referred the question to the NMBI for its attention and direct response to the Deputy.
