My Department has an agricultural attaché based in the Irish Embassy in Rome.
Along with their normal attaché duties, a large element of the work of the Rome Attaché relates to the service of members of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the World Food Programme, which are based in Rome, and in respect of which my Department leads for the Irish Government.
The roles of the overseas diplomatic team are continuously reviewed in line with the strategic priorities for my Department.
