163. Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport if all national governing bodies have achieved 40% female representation on their boards, management committees and executive committees; whether equivalent 40% male representation is in place on the governing structures of female sports organisations, including the Camogie Association and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Sport Ireland, which is funded by my Department, is the statutory body with responsibility for the development of sport, increasing participation at all levels and raising standards. Its remit includes the allocation of funding to National Governing Bodies (NGBs) for the design and implementation of a range of targeted programmes and initiatives to promote increased sports participation. Sport Ireland also provides support to NGBs towards achieving the target of 40% female representation on boards and it monitors and reports on progress.

I have referred the Deputy's question to Sport Ireland for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to inform my office if a reply is not received within 10 days.
