My Department is committed to supporting thriving communities across the country through a range of funding initiatives. With regard to County Louth, my Department allocated over €13 million in 2025 alone through various schemes and programmes.

My Department's capital schemes are of particular importance in this regard. Some examples of relevant capital funding approvals in Louth include:

• The upgrade and development of community centres in Louth under the Community Centre Investment Fund, some great examples include;

- over €260,000 for extension and alteration works at the Coach House in Dundalk;

- €100,000 for renovations at St. Kevin's GAA in Dunleer, and;

- over €160,000 for upgrades at the Dermot Kierans Centre in Drogheda.

• The Community Recognition Fund supported projects in Louth with an allocation of over €1.3 million, in 2025. Some of the projects supported include over €55,000 for the M.A.D Youth Theatre in Dundalk and €100,000 for the Muirhevnamor District Park development.

• Also in 2025 funding of roughly €240,000 was provided for 124 projects across the county under the Local Enhancement Programme, which provides small grants to improve community facilities.

With regard to current funding supports, the Community Services Programme provides funding for community-based organisations to deliver vital services, with over €2 million allocated for Louth last year. The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme provided nearly €2 million to Louth in 2025, with a focus on tackling social exclusion and supporting employment readiness.

Details of the thousands of funding allocations my Department has provided each year, across the country, including County Louth, are available on my Department’s website, in tabular form.
