Carer's Allowance is a means-tested social assistance payment made to a person who is habitually resident in the State and who is providing full-time care and attention to a child or an adult who has such a disability that as a result they require that level of care.

I can confirm that the payment of the person concerned has been re-rated to full rate from 26 March 2026 following the cessation of their Illness Benefit claim.

The new rate of payment of €270.00 per week will issue to their nominated bank account from 28 May 2026. Arrears due will issue shortly.

The person concerned was notified of this decision in writing on 22 May 2026.
