468. Deputy Martin Daly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the supports available to farmers experiencing losses in silage production or summer grazing due to persistent elevated water levels and flooding in the Shannon Callows. [40959/26]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department is not involved in the management of the water levels on the River Shannon, however, following exceptional flooding in the Shannon Callows during the summer of 2023, on the 7th of November 2023 the Shannon Callows Flood Scheme was announced as a once-off measure. The aim of the scheme was to support farmers who had lost fodder due to exceptional and prolonged flooding in the region during summer 2023.
There are currently no plans to introduce another scheme.
